The Spaniard broke both his ankles in a spectacular crash in Shanghai.

Spanish motoGP rider, Jorge Lorenzo, is having some first season in the top category, and now says that despite fracturing his ankles in a spectacular crash in Shanghai, he will take part in the French GP this weekend.

He has been operated on and is now recovering in a wheelchair. ‘I now realise how much people in wheelchairs suffer’, he told journalists yesterday and vowed to take part in the race this weekend on his Yamaha, despite still not being 100%.

Fellow Spanish rider, Dani Pedrosa, commented that the arms are more important than the legs in the sport.
