822: After the death of Al Hakam I, the reign of Abderraman II started in Córdoba. He adopted style from Baghdad and the Iraqi music Ziryab.
1520: Carlos I of Spain signed the document which gave Diego Colón the titles of Admiral and Viceroy of The Indias.
1834: Carlos María Isidro de Borbón, returned from exile.
1856: Queen Isabel II created the Beneficial Order, a form of civil decoration to award those affected by the Asian Cholera.
1902: Alfonso XIII of Spain became an adult, swore to the Constitution and started his reign.
1925: A state of War was declared in Spain.
1928: The telephone service between Spain and Portugal started.
1933: The law for confessions and religious congregations was passed.
1992: Several ETA activists who had fled from Spain were arrested in a restaurant in Montevideo.
1993: The Camino de Santiago was declared a European Heritage site.
2005: The Spanish parliament voted to allow the Zapatero government to start talks with ETA. Only the PP voted against.
