email this article The driver from Asturias said he was happy with the time.Fernando Alonso marked the seventh fastest time in practice in the first free session of the Monaco Grand Prix yesterday despite breaking the tail fin of his Renault.
He admitted that he applied the brakes five metres too late and ended up hitting the barriers on the Santa Devota curve, but he said he was satisfied with the session as the car had gone well, without any problems. However he also noted that times had to improved ahead of qualification, as that was vital on the circuit were overtaking was practically impossible.
