Penélope Cruz starts filming for Almodóvar in Lanzarote

Penélope Cruz is already in Lanzarote at the orders of Pedro Almodóvar as filming starts for the new film ‘Los Abrazos Rotos’.
The famous Guatiza Cactus Garden was chosen by the director for some shots taken yesterday, and part of the filming was carried out by helicopter and comes at the start of what will be more than two weeks filming on the Canary Island.
Cruz has commented that Almodóvar and Woody Allen are very different, but that they also have things in common. She made the comment last week in Cannes, at the presentation of the latest Woody Allen film, ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ filmed in the city last year.
‘Los Abrazos Rotos’ is said to be Almodóvar’s longest and most expensive film so far.
