18 or 19 boats are now under investigation as the possible source of the spill

18 or 19 boats are under investigation as being the possible source of the oil slick which has been threatening the coast of Valencia over the past couple of days.

The spill is now described as being practically controlled, but the red flag was still flying this evening on the Cabanyal and Malvarrosa beaches as a precautionary measure.

Indeed some small amounts of oil have appeared on the Malvarrosa beach and some 40 cleaning units are on hand to clear the tar as it arrives. It’s estimated that 3,500 kilos of fuel was spilt in total in the case.
