Jorge Lorenzo had to drop out of the race after crashing in practice.

The Catalan crowd were simply delighted that local rider, Dani Pedrosa was able to win the Catalan Grand Prix in the MotoGP in Montmeló yesterday. The race was strange with the absence of fellow Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo, who crashed in qualifying.

Dami Pedrosa dominated the top class race from start to finish to get his second race victory of the season, after starting second on the grid but taking the lead in the second lap.
Valentino Rossi was second and Casey Stoner third.
