Man arrested in Algeciras for hosting a cock fight in his home

A 24 year old man from Alicante, named as J.M.A. was arrested on Saturday by police in Algeciras on animal mistreatment charges under the penal code. He is accused of using his home in Calle Noria in Algeciars as a venue to host cock-fighting contests.
Police swooped the premises on Saturday afternoon and found some 30 people and obtained evidence of how one of the birds was seriously injured and also took away some spurs which are generally used to protect the birds in cock-fights.
