2.8 million people will cross from Spain to Morocco and back over the next three months.
The Government Delegate in Andalucía, Juan José López Garzón, has said that everything is prepared for the ‘Operación Paso del Estrecho’ which starts today and continues until September 15, during which time thousands of Moroccans and others will cross the Strait of Gibraltar at the start and end of their summer holidays.
A Spanish Government delegation was in Marrakech on Saturday finalising the details with the Moroccan authorities, as over 741,000 vehicles with nearly 2.8 million passengers are expected to make the crossing over the next three months, some 2% more than last year.
