email this article The Costa del Sol Photographic Society held an exhibition of photographs on Tuesday 4th March at the Casa de La Cultura in Arroyo de la Miel. The funds raised from this year’s exhibition were focused on helping to save the In-patient Unit. Since opening the Unit in 2005, the financial support received has not covered the high maintenance costs and as a result could mean possible closure of the Unit. However, with the help we are receiving from all our friends, the future of the In-Patient Unit looks a lot brighter.
More than 150 photos were on exhibition and up for auction which were all very kindly donated by members of the Photographic Society. There was a wide variety of themes including landscapes, people at work, animals, weather and carnivals. The evening was very well attended with over 250 people including keen amateur photographers and of course the society members themselves. The event was sponsored by “Offshore Money Managers” and Robert Seaton from the company did a fantastic job of auctioneering the photos. Everyone exchanged opinions over a splendid buffet and drinks making it a very sociable evening and a success bringing in over 500 euros for Cudeca.
