email this article Ginés Jiménez Buendía has been in prison without bail for a month and a half.The ex Local Police Chief in the Madrid town of Coslada, Ginés Jiménez Buendía, known popularly as the Sheriff, has now spent a month and a half in prison without bail in the corruption case based in the town.
In a new statement, sent to the press by his lawyer on Monday, he says that his arrest is a ‘serious injustice’ and he denies that there was a police mafia in operation in the town.
He says people in the Madrid Central Police Station are acting against him in revenge and that he is innocent of the charges of extortion, making of threats, perversion of the course of justice, bribery and illegal ownership of arms which he faces as part of the ‘operación Bloque’.
The statement from the Sheriff ends – ‘to be continued’.
