1.2 million Brits visit the Costa Blanca in first five months of the year

Foreign tourist numbers are up in Spain by 3.5 percent so far this year

British tourism is considered to be the motor of the economy on the Costa Blanca. Latest numbers show that the region welcomed 1.2 million British visitors this year to May, 21% of the total number according to the Ministry for the Economy.

Nationally Spain saw 20.9 million foreign tourists arrive over the first five months of the year, the number 3.5% higher than in 2007 over the same period, and 21% of the visitors came from the U.K.
