Construction is to start on Monday and the 3km section will take 15 months to complete.

Work to build line 1 of the Málaga metro start on Monday in Teatinos near the university. This line will cost 15.2 million € to construct and is expected to take 15 months to complete. It’s a three km section which runs on the surface of the Teatinos campus, and will have five stations.

The tender for this section was removed from the main metro project when MetroMálaga said they needed extra funding for the section.

Finally travellers will be able to go from Málaga city to the University and then on to the Technology Park with work on the outer sections expected to start in forthcoming months.
