email this article The Spanish film maker was criticised in an article published in the British paper earlier this month.Spanish filmmaker, Pedro Almodóvar, has described an article in Britain’s Guardian newspaper on June 17 as ‘unjust’ and ‘stupid’.
The article claimed that Almodóvar has dominated Spanish film to the extent of drowning the national film industry and monopolising its international interest.
In his response Almodóvar said that the British film market gave no opportunity to its public to discover films in foreign languages. He said it was deeply unjust and really stupid to blame me for the lack of Spanish films in British cinemas, making his comments in a letter to the newspaper.
