Breakers yard fire affects landings at El Altet

Firemen from Alicante airport, Elche and San Vicente attended a fire on Tuesday night at a car breakers yard close to the airport which saw 100 cars being gutted by the flames.
60,000 litres of water and 1,400 litres of foam was used to put out the blaze which affected flights to the El Altet airport for a time. The fire was finally extinguished just after 2am on Tuesday morning.
