Nadal now meets Nicolas Kiefer in the third round

It was a case of from less to more for Rafa Nadal at Wimbledon yesterday. The player from Mallorca found himself facing a young and powerful challenger from Latvia, Ernest Gulbis, who made Nadal suffer in a way we have not seen for some time, and who took the first set.

However as the match continued the 19 year old started to make a series of basic errors, 35 unforced errors in total, and as the play continued Nadal managed to get a handle on his opponent’s serve.
It ended 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 and 6-3 in two hours 56 minutes.

Nadal now meets Nicolas Kiefer in the third round. He commented after the match that now the rivals are difficult, difficult.

The other Spanish player Tommy Robredo from Cataluña, went out of the Championship beaten by Tommy Haas, 6-4,6-4,6-3.
