It's thought that there were 25 children among the travellers.

179 immigrants were intercepted by the authorities when navigating off Tenerife on Sunday, and it’s thought that some 25 of them are under age. EFE news agency reported that the Red Cross said only one person needed hospital treatment.

Their cayuco boat was spotted at 9,30am by the Coastguard vessel ‘Punta Salinas’ when some 8 miles form the port of Los Cristianos on the south of the island.
