email this article Simone Ortega wrote the famous bestseller '1080 Recetas de Cocina'.The woman who wrote Spain’s best known cookbook, ‘1080 Recetas de Cocina’, which was recently translated into English and has proved to be best seller a second time round, has died.
Simone Ortega published the first edition of the book in the 70’s and died at the age of 89 in the Madrid residence which was her home.
The book which covers all the basics of the Spanish kitchen was to prove a long-time bestseller, especially to those who were inexperienced in the kitchen.
Simone Ortega had double Spanish and French nationality, and was born Simone Klein Ansaldy.
