email this articleThe group was headed by a woman known as 'La Paca'.The so-called ‘Clan de La Paca’ which is believed to have controlled drug trafficking on Mallorca, has been broken up by police.
La Paca, her husband, el Tarta, and one of her sons are all among those arrested as a group of 100 police searched the Son Banya area of the island close to Palma for some seven hours.
La Paca, real name Francisca Cortés is accused of controlling the distribution of drugs on the island. The police operation remains open but so far some 20 arrests have been made.
