The devices are used to keep road lanes separate and have already been introduced in Madrid.

Controversial so-called ‘shark-fin’ lane separators are to be installed on the streets of Málaga.
They will be rolled out on the 14th of this month in Avenida Manuel Domínguez and the Bulevar Luis Pasteur.

The Málaga fins will be green compared to the blue ones which have been installed in Madrid, but will otherwise be identical.

The 30 centimetre fins are installed to stop traffic from entering bus lanes, but they are very flexible and bounce back up when run over.
