Spanish film recovers at the Box Office

Income at the Box Office for Spanish films has been double that seen for the first six months of last year.

Spanish film has doubled the take at the box office over the first six months of the year compared to last year. Two films have led the recovery for the industry – ‘Los Crímenes de Oxford’ and Mortadelo y Filemón’, with both of them in the top five at the box office. Last year there was not a single Spanish film in the top 25.

The numbers come from the Ministry for Culture and show Spanish films made 39.2 million dollars in the first half of this year, compared to 19.3 million last. Top film of the year so far in Spain is Indiana Jones.
