It follows a spate of robberies in the La Murada area of the town.

Following a spate of local robberies, one resident of La Murada in Orihuela, has taken matters into his own hands. He has placed a large poster on one of the walls of the property making it clear that he only has money in the house for one day at a time, and that there is no jewellery or items of value. If you want to rob us, the poster continues, ring the bell and we’ll let you in.

The number of burglaries in the area has reached such a level that the locals are now organising their own patrols of the zone.
