It comes as the postponed Belonsa case reaches the courts in Málaga on Thursday.

Penal Court number 7 in Málaga will from this Thursday, until the following Tuesday, hear the case about alleged irregularities in the real estate operation regarding the Belmonsa company in Marbella.

The Mayor of Marbella, Julián Muñoz, is among those on the accused bench, as is the ex municipal real estate assessor, Juan Antonio Roca, and the ex deputy Mayor, Pedro Román.

The case should have been heard last February but was suspended following a request by the Roca defence team who claimed they had not enough time to prepare.
Also charged are the ex councillors Rafael González, Mario Jiménez, José Marino Pomares, Manuel Calle, Marisa Alcalá and the lawyer José Luis Sierra.

The accused face charges of town planning irregularities, influence peddling and perversion of the course of justice following the granting of a licence to the Belonsa company to build as 12 story building with 112 homes.
