email this article Ramón Calderón says a deal is close despite denials from Manchester United.The Chairman of Real Madrid, Ramón Calderón, has insisted that a deal is close to bringing Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo to the club.
‘Ferguson is hard, but it does not matter, Rondaldo will be signed shortly’, said Calderón this weekend, after the Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson said that Ronaldo would be staying at Old Trafford.
Calderón considers that Ferguson is simply holding out to try and obtain more money for the player.
Meanwhile the player, who is out of action for a couple of months following ankle surgery has said he wants to play where he is happy, and has openly said he wants to move to Real Madrid.
