Police chased a car at 170km/hour to find a boot full of melons.

News comes of a spectacular police chase last week in Cartagena where the local police paid chase to a vehicle on the Cartagena- La Manga road after it avoided a police checkpoint at Los Nietos.
The chase reached speeds of 170 kms/hour according to reports and several accidents were narrowly avoided.

When finally forced off the road at La Palma the escaping driver was forced down a road with no exit and then tried to escape on foot, but was finally caught by the police.

They discovered that he was driving without a licence and that the boot of the vehicle was full of melons which the police described as being of ‘doubtful providence’.
