A woman from Sevilla and her German husband were arrested for the murder of their landlord, a man known locally as ‘Bernard’ in Alfarnatejo on Tuesday last week. The wife was later released from custody, but the husband, named as Jurgen Franzke, was remanded to prison.
He told the court this week that the argument which led him to kill his landlord, who was also German, on Christmas Day, was because Bernard wanted to put up the price he charged them for electricity consumption each month.
