Local people think the child's body had been carried to the Eastern Costa del Sol by currents from Almería.

The remains of a Sub Saharan child have been found on a beach at Algarrobo. Residents of the area think the boy’s body may have come from the immigrant patera boats which have been intercepted by the authorities recently in the Almería area, with local fishermen saying it could have been carried by recent levante winds.

The body was found early yesterday morning close to the mouth of the Algarrobo river by some youths who were in the area after drinking in Torre del Mar. It’s estimated the child was no more than four years old.
