The ex Municipal Real Estate Assessor in Marbella has admitted in court to bribing the Judge Francisco Javier de Urquía.

The ex Municipal Real Estate Assessor, Juan Antonio Roca, has said that from now on he has decided to tell the truth about the real estate corruption for which he is charged, whatever consequences that may bring.

‘I suppose that telling the truth will bring me more problems than benefits, but I’m going to do it, even with the opposition of my lawyer’, Roca told the court.

It comes after he told the Andalucian High Court in Granada this week that he had paid the judge Francisco Javier de Urquía the sum of 73,800 € for favourable treatment.

After admitting that in court, the prosecutor reduced Roca’s requested sentence to a year in prison. The other two implicated in the case, Judge De Urquía and his friend Arnaud Fabrice Albouhair, still face three year prison sentences in the case on bribery and other charges.
