The ex Municipal Real Estate Assessor in Marbella has reached a plea deal, with others charged in the Belmonsa case.
The ex Municipal Real Estate Assessor in Marbella, Juan Antonio Roca, has once again admitted his guilt in a real estate deal in the town. He has now accepted a plea deal of nine months in prison and a 2.4 million € fine for influence peddling in the ‘Belmonsa’ case.
Ex Mayor of Marbella, Julián Muñoz, has also accepted a deal of a year in prison for a crime against town planning regulations, and the Deputy Mayor at the time of the Jesús Gil y Gil administration in the town, Pedro Román, also reached a plea deal which keeps him out of holding public office for eight years for perversion of the course of justice in the case.
Indeed the other ex councillors have also reached a deal by pleading guilty with Mario Jiménez, Manuel Calle y Rafael González accepting a year in prison and a year ban from public office, José Miguel Pomares accepting six months in prison and Marisa Alcalá accepting an eight year ban from public office.
It means that the only person charged in the case not admit his guilt and form a deal is the lawyer José Luis Sierra, so the case will proceed for him alone.
The Belmonsa case relates to an agreement between Marbella Town Hall and the Belmonsa company for the building of a 12 story building and 112 homes on land classified in part as being for public use.
