email this articleThree Lithuanians and a Czech are now in custody.A gang of Lithuanian thieves has been broken up in the Axarquía, with the National Police highlighting the professionalism and violent nature of those now in custody.
The group, which lived in the Vélez and Torrox, is now linked to crimes which date back as far as 2004 including kidnappings, violent thefts and intimidation.
Three Lithuanians aged 29, 29 and 25 were arrested with a 38 year old Czech. Several automatic firearms were recovered with 1.2 million € in false notes,500 € in cash, and other material such as cameras, mobile phones and portable computers.
The 29 year old leader of the gang, named with the initials M.D. had a search and capture order against him for allegedly planning and carrying out the kidnapping of a British citizen in Marbella in 2004. His girlfriend was arrested recently in Almería on money counterfeiting charges.
