Orihuela Town Hall has been named as the least transparent local administration in Spain in a survey of the 100 largest municipalities in Spain by Transparency International. The bottom place was challenged by Torrevieja in second to bottom and El Ejido third.

The Transparency organisation looked at a total of 80 indicators to reach their conclusions, measuring the amount of information available to local residents and the relationship between residents and administration.

Most open Town Halls in Spain were revealed to be Bilbao, followed by Gijón, Cartagena and Barcelona.
