It's thought the boats had been used by immigrants.

Three empty patera small 4.5 metre boats have been found on the Redonda beach in Torrevieja.

The remains of some food and clothing were found in the boats yesterday morning leading to the conclusion that they had indeed been used by immigrants.

The boats had small outboard motors of between 25 and 40 horse power, and have now been removed from the scene by the authorities.

It’s thought that the boats were carrying some 30 people, and so far the Guardia Civil say they have arrested three men from Algeria.

Meanwhile in Murcia another four boats have been intercepted and at least 37 immigrants arrested.
