A total of 43 travellers have been intercepted by the Spanish authorities.

Five patera small boats have been intercepted by the Spanish authorities in Cartagena, Cabo de Palos and La Manga. 43 immigrants from Algeria have been intercepted and all of the travellers are reported to be in good health, with reports that one of the immigrants is under age.

The boats were all intercepted yesterday afternoon and evening after a search was started in the area following the spotting of the first boat, carrying 10 immigrants, by a navy vessel 52 miles to the south of Cartagena.
