email this articleIt comes following a decision by the Ministry for Development to change the border at San Pedro del Pinatar.Murcia is now nearly half a million square metres bigger thanks to a decision from the Ministry for Development to support a claim of a border with the Valencia region which had been made by the town of San Pedro del Pinatar.
The new border thus takes a similar amount of land away from Pilar de la Horadada in Alicante province, although Alicante have announced an appeal.
If confirmed, the decision means that the official maps of both regions have to be changed.
