email this article The family of Jesús Neira consider that medical negligence could have taken place following the attack.A brutal attack on a university professor, named Jesús Neira, took place in Majadahonda, Madrid at the start of the month, and images of the aggression have been broadcast by Antena Tres television.
A man named as Antonio Puerta, has been arrested in connection with the attack, and it is now known that his defence team and girlfriend had both tried to stop the images of the attack from being broadcast.
The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, sedated and on a ventilator, and his family have said that they do not want the regional Madrid government to represent them in any legal proceedings given that the position of the Madrid region is not clear. They are also considering launching a claim of medical negligence following the treatment received by the professor in the Puerta de Hierro and Móstoles Hospitals after the attack as he did not enter into a coma until three days later.
