The bridge is part of the new street circuit which has been set up in Valencia Port and which is being used for the first time in Formula One this weekend.

The Bridgestone tyre company, the official supplier for the Formula One, has called on the FIA to examine the mobile bridge which makes up part of the new urban street track in Valencia port, scene of this weekend’s European Grand Prix.

The tyre company says that there is a change in level of 15 millimetres on the bridge and that the change in asphalt on the bridge could result in punctures, especially in the super bland tyres. It’s understood the concerns were placed in an email to the race director of the FIA, Charlie Whiting.
