The Spanish actor's macho man image gets a battering from a not all together serious Woody Allen.

Javier Bardem’s image as the typical Spanish macho man has come in for a bit of a battering in the press launch coverage for his latest film ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’.

Director Woody Allen has wasted no time in telling journalists that Bardem needs, as he put it ‘help in the bedroom’. Writing admittedly with a touch of humour, Allen tells the New York Times that Bardem found the sex scenes difficult and needed help in shooting the hottest scenes from the film. As an example Allan says that Bardem did not know how to undress Penélope Cruz in the very first scene.

Allan did say however that once shown, Bardem had no problem in repeating what he had been told, and that both Penélope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson were so taken with Allen that he thought about sleeping with them both to keep them happy. He said that Cruz was far more sexy than he could have imagined.
