The two femail tourists were those most seriously hurt by a kamikazee driver in Calle Larios in Málaga city centre on Saturday.

The two women German and Italian tourists who were seriously hurt when a mentally disturbed 42 year old man from Alhaurin el Grande drove his black Rover car at speed down the pedestrianised Calle Larios in the centre of Málaga, are both in a coma.

Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, gave the news and said that both were on assisted breathing. The Mayor said that closed circuit television in the street showed that the driver had try to run down the pedestrians.

It’s now known that the driver, named with the initials A.B.M. and a retired member of the Guardia Civil, had not taken his medication. His family is calling for him to be admitted to a psychiatric centre, but last night the duty judge ordered him to prison without bail. He faces charges of attempted homicide.
