30 jobs lost as Elche shoe factory closes

Workers got the news of the closure when they returned from their August holiday yesterday.
30 jobs have been lost with the closure of another footwear factory in Elche. ‘El Buen Zapato’, on the road to Matola closed yesterday according to union UGT, with workers getting the unwelcome surprise news on their return from their holidays.
They found the factory locked up and some had been told of the closure by fax which said the company had no option to close as it had no orders.
