The 36 year old biker lost his foot when in collision with the upright to a crash barrier.

A 36 year old man who suffered the amputation of his left foot on Monday when his motorbike was in collision with a crash barrier, has had the appendage put back in place by the top surgeon Pedro Cavadas in an operation carried out on Tuesday in the Virgen del Consuelo clinic in Valencia.

He described the operation as ‘very complicated’ and said most surgeons did not carry it out as prosthetic feet were generally more effective. However he said his team was specialist in both feet and legs.

The patient is reported to be doing well.
