Most of the new arrivals came ashore on the Canaries.

More than 100 immigrants, including 32 children, have arrived on the coasts of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote over recent hours on three different cayuco boats. An fourth empty boat has been found in Lanzarote, but there is no sign of any immigrant in the area.

The first of these latest arrivals was spotted at 9pm on Saturday night when 61 sub-Sahran travellers were spotted 69 miles off Maspalomas to the south of Gran Canaria.

A total of 306 immigrants have arrived on the coasts of Spain and the islands over the weekend.
