Eight people died across the country over the weekend, far fewer than last year for the same weekend.

A 27 year old man died in the early hours of Sunday in a traffic accident on the Carretera de Santa Ana towards La Aparecida in Cartagena. It happened in a head-on crash between a van and a car, with the fatality being the van drier who was trapped in the vehicle after the accident.

The death was one of only eight across the country over the weekend. The number again well down on the 32 deaths seen over the last weekend last year.
