Health authorities say the food had not been correctly frozen and was not correctly labelled.
Five tons of rotting and unlabelled meat has been found by the authorities in Alhaurín el Grande. It came to light when a local company was subject to a health inspection by the SEPRONA Guardia Civil and Regional Health Service.
The foodstuff found includes chickens, hamburgers, pork ribs, beef and even snails. The Guardia Civil say the packaging was not labelled in Castellano and the products had not been correctly stored. More than 5,000 kilos of food was found at the Santa Gema company based in Villafranco del Guadalhorce.
Diario Sur reports that they tried to contact the company for their comments without success.
