Córdoba airline operating without air traffic control

Flysur has been operating for the past 36 days without air traffic support at Córdoba.
It has emerged that the Flysur airline, which is now in financial difficulties, has been carrying out regular flights from Córdoba airport for the past month without the permission from the General Director of Civil Aviation and without any air traffic controllers being on duty.
The company has been operating two 50 seater ATR-42 planes from Córdoba for the past 36 days without any air traffic controllers monitoring take offs or landings. Pilots were also not informed about any climatic conditions on their daily flights to Barcelona, Vigo and Bilbao.
Manager of the airline, Eduardo Gavilán, has said to the El Mundo newspaper that he intends to try and keep the business running and says that AENA, the Spanish airports authority are to install what is described as a ‘portable c control tower’ in Córdoba.
