It happened on a visit by the Spanish monarch from Madrid to Zaragoza yesterday.
King Juan Carlos has piloted a Hercules plane which took him from Madrid on a visit to the airbase in Zaragoza.
The monarch took advantage of the trip yesterday to witness how F-18 combat planes can be re-fuelled in midair, and also saw a team of parachutists jump from the craft.
The Ala 31 unit in Zaragoza is made up of 12 Hercules transport planes used by the Spanish military in its international operations.
