Julián Muñoz faces losing his exclusive money from a television interview

The Attourney General wants to establish whether the ex Mayor of Marbella has been paid by Telecinco for an interview which will be broadcast on Friday night.

The Attorney General, Cándido Conde-Pumpido, has asked the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor to investigate if the ex Director General of the Guardia Civil, Luis Roldán, and the ex Mayor of Marbella, Julián Muñoz, have been paid for interviews they have given to Telecinco television.

The request comes as Telecinco is reported to have paid 350,000 € to Muñoz for a series of interviews about the Malaya corruption case in Marbella and his time in jail, the first of which is to be broadcast tomorrow (Friday) at 2230.

Europa Press reports the object of the investigation is to stop the money being diverted to bank accounts overseas, and to present a possible embargo on the money.

Muñoz is currently serving time on six counts of real estate irregularities in Marbella dating from the time he was Mayor, but is now enjoying the 'third grade' open regime where he only has to sleep weekday nights in jail.
