World's longest single cut of Spanish ham made in Torrevieja

Nicolás Jiménez cut a single piece of ham 19 metres and 25 centimetres long to get his way into the Guinness Book of Records.

Master Spanish ham cutter, Nicolás Jiménez, from Extremadura, has cut his way into the Guinness Book of Records today, with a single cut from a leg of ham which was 19 metres, 25 centimetres long and weighed six kilos.

It took him an hour and a quarter and was witnessed by a hundred or so people, some of whom asked who had a bocadillo big enough.

The cut was five centimetres longer than the previous record.

Nicolás Jiménez is the Spanish and World Champion in ham cutting.
His latest masterpiece took place in a restaurant in Torrevieja, Alicante.
