Flats which are smaller than 150 square metre and have been unsold for a year can become VPO assisted housing.
The Generalitat regional government in Valencia has announced a new plan to help purchasers of new flats which are smaller than 150 square metres in size.
The plan will run from 2009 to 2012, although for an initial period of just 12 months, and is to include new housing stock which has been unsold for a year in the classification of VPO, assisted housing, which would mean that purchasers would be eligible for official grants from both the regional and central governments.
The Generalitat hopes the plan will see the sale of many of the estimated 40,000 homes which remain unsold in the Valencia region currently.
