One office in the town near Barcelona handed out more than 100 million € in prize tickets.
The winning first prize in the El Niño lottery, the traditional follow-up draw to Spain’s famous Christmas EL Gordo, has sent a windfall of money into Terrassa near Barcelona, with the winning number of 28,920. One single office, ‘La Bona Sort’ – ‘Good Luck’ handed out more than 100 million € in prizes.
The second prize for 56,306 was sold in Llodio in Álava and the third prize for 67,893 sent 840,000 € to the Málaga town of Antequera.
Ticket sales for El Niño were 2% down this year on last with Spaniards spending 762 million €, that’s an average of 16 € 90 cents per person.
