There are 27 cases still outstanding against the ex Mayor of Marbella.

The ex Mayor of Marbella, Julián Muñoz, says he wants to reach another plea bargain deal with the prosecutor for a further 27 cases.

The current pact agreed between the prosecutors’ office and Muñoz and other ex Marbella councillors accused of town planning irregularities, has allowed for 100 court cases to be saved and prison terms of only three years for the accused, all of whom are now released on the open regime known as tercer grado.

Muñoz now faces a further 26 cases plus one in which the Sevilla lawyer, José María del Nido, is implicated, and wants a new pact to consider the crimes to be considered to run concurrently.

However the cases which remain outstanding are not just for town planning irregularities. They are cases where the municipal accounts in Marbella have lost out, and the extent of that loss is now being calculated before the cases come to court.
