Their total value is put at 10 million Euro

A 51 year old man from France has been arrested on an extradition order for involvement in the theft in France of 1,000 vehicles worth an estimated 10 million €. He is also accused of stealing 86 hire cars from Valencia which were then transferred to France, and is understood to have been preparing for another vehicle theft operation when he was arrested in Madrid.

He was in the Spanish capital, using a Belgian identity, where he organised contract hire cars, supposedly for legitimate companies, which he later sent for sale outside Spain. He used this system to steal more than 500 vehicles in Terrassa, just outside Barcelona.

EFE said police have managed to recover most of the cars stolen in Valencia, which were located in Nice, southern France.
